Claims are a common feature of construction projects. Often they are for time and money and can arise for a myriad of reasons, from ground conditions, design, lack of access, variations, the acts of a third party etc.

In addition to what happens with the works, it is also common to have disagreements over whether the correct notices were issued and what the implications of that are. The most obvious example being what has come to be known as “smash and grab” claims which arise by virtue of legislative provisions and/or clauses in the contract.

We assist clients in both bringing and defending all types of claims and have decades of knowledge to draw upon. We are happy to manage the claim on your behalf or stay in the background in a supporting role.

We also help with debt recovery and unpaid certificates, invoices or retention. We have tried and tested approaches to debt recovery, including an escalation process, which has been refined over the years.
